Beyond Baltic North is an independent publication about the German Baltic coast — Greifswald, Stralsund, Rügen, and the places most visitors pass through without stopping.
It's run by Carlos Back, a foreigner living in Greifswald. The pieces here are essays, not itineraries. The subject is always the place — its history, its contradictions, the things that didn't make it into the guidebooks.
Every video ships with a companion text. Every written piece ships with photographs. There are no standalone pieces.
If you want to follow along, the newsletter goes out when something new is published. No other reason.
